Get Ready for Growth in 2012

We’ll definitely still be here to celebrate New Year’s 2013, so you’ll want to use2012’s astrological opportunities as they’re meant to be used—for growth, healing, dumping structures and beliefs that are past their expiration date and rebuilding.

Here are 2012’s astrological highlights, and a quick look at where and how they could influence your Sun Sign in 2012.

Venus: This year the planet of love and beauty brings the spiritual feminine force to the fore by moving across the face of the Sun on June 5-6, something she does only twice every 120 years. This year she completes a process begun in June of 2004. Look for details in a forthcoming article about soul mates.

Jupiter: The planet of expansion, opportunity and… well, frankly, excess… is expressing through earthy, sensual Taurus until June. Then, in Gemini, it starts cranking out an endless battery of ideas and inventions through mid-2013.

Saturn: Concerned with form, structure and accountability, Saturn in Libra requires us to continue working on building structures—physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, especially in relationships—that encourage and support balance, through early October.

Uranus-Pluto: Beginning a process that will last through 2015, revolutionary Uranus and transformational power broker Pluto meet in challenging aspect on June 24. Since this is the first of seven change-triggering encounters, note where it erupts in your life for future reference.

Neptune-Chiron: The mystical planet of dreams and deceptions and the wounded healer, Chiron, stay close together in the early degrees of Pisces. Their influence will be subtle, profound and, at least initially, almost invisible—unless you’re watching closely.

What’s Up for You

Aries: The Uranus-Pluto encounter will have a significant impact, but you’re already familiar with the Uranus dynamic, so you’ll know what to do. Saturn continues to demand hard work in your committed relationships, with a helpful boost from Venus and, later, Jupiter.

Taurus: While Jupiter is in Taurus your influence (and possibly your waistline) will continue to expand. Watch your finances while Venus acts up, and expect everyday matters to bring more surprises. Friends and mentors are healers.

Gemini: This year promises all the excitement you could possibly wish for, although love affairs and creative projects continue to require more work than you usually invest. Money and friendships may get a jolt, but career is all about healing.

Cancer: Like Aries, Capricorn and Libra, you’ve already adjusted to the Uranus-Pluto energy somewhat, so, even though their encounter may affect partner or career, you can cope because Saturn has helped you build a balanced foundation.

Leo: With Jupiter stabilizing career efforts till June and Venus creating some interesting social situations, this year should be fairly easy for you. However, watch investments and shared resources, shoring up their foundations regularly.

Virgo: The Neptune-Chiron influence is focused on significant relationships, so remember if the ground beneath them gets swampy, it’s for healing. Venus may boost career, while Uranus-Pluto stirs up friends, investments and creativity.

Libra:  Saturn could continue to mute your normal verve and charm, while Uranus-Pluto is focused in the areas of home and partnerships/marriage, challenging you to keep your footing. Powerful healing abilities and spiritual gifts are awakening.

Scorpio: While your partnerships/marriage should be richly rewarding, investments, legal affairs and communications will probably be unpredictable. Temper your usual intensity with healthy, stress-reducing practices and diet this year.

Sagittarius: Partnerships (Venus) and foundational beliefs and structures (Neptune-Chiron) are activated by this year’s astrological activity. And if you stay alert to shifts in investments/income and creative projects, you could reap rewards.
